Despite being upset and shocked, the bright-side part of me was excited at the chance to do ten times better the next time around-there were so many things I learned way too late that I wished I had known sooner (stack glitch, don’t raise link island first, gifting for sun stones, start button opens the rucksack without having to go through the menu, fish during festivals–just to name a few!). Uncharacteristically, I panicked and turned the whole handheld off mid-save, effectively erasing my game. I was reloading for another wonderful in my first Winter, and in a half asleep, past-midnight stupor, I accidently began to save instead of reload.
I would like to note that I’m not currently playing my first game I had a small accident. I’ve seen a lot of posts about how the mining is just too hard and that makes me sad-panda because this is possibly my most favorite HM game and I think the mining system in this game is awesome compared to some previous HM games. Some of my information came from various threads, or reading answers to ‘help me with mining’ posts, but much of my experience has come from simply doing it, and I feel the mine is such a large subject and a valuable asset in Sunshine Islands that it deserves a little more. My very first trip netted me an Indigo, 400k from shipping and 50k from digging with 2 greens and 2 oranges equipped (obtained from Chen's that same Winter) my last trip netted me a Yellow and 2 million gold total with 2 greens, 2 purples, and 8 oranges equipped (I used all the alexandrite/pink diamonds to make 40x gem natto-more on that later). I took my first trip to the bottom of the mine the 22th of Winter, Year 1 I’ve since been to the bottom six (6) times! The money and wonderfuls has contributed to having many things sooner than I expected (for example I’ve built the greenhouse, upgraded it, and put in an extra sun stone holder already-I bought it outright, no lumber, with 2.6 million to spare I’m planning on my next trip funding a discounted quality improver). At the time of this writing, I’m near the end of Fall, Year 2 (about 3 weeks real time, hooray school break). This is my first guide to contribute to the fogu forums-I hope its helpful.
